Trusting Your Gut Feeling Holds the Key

In order to keep up and survive your human life, trusting your gut feeling is essential. It is one of your superpowers to help you reach your greatest potential and create a smoother ride for yourself.

But a glitch in the program happened at some point, where you forget this power. Instead you learnt to trust others over yourself and doubted your knowing. Leading you on a rocky path.

I used to travel through life unaware and asleep. Making choices that were not in my best interest. Something would feel off and wrong, but I would do it anyway. I didn’t know how to trust my gut feeling or what that even meant.

I was numb to my senses and made poor choices that caused me a lot of pain and suffering. If I had known what my intuition was and how to trust it, things would have been TOTALLY different.

At one point in my life I was very low. My marriage had ended, I felt lost, vulnerable and alone. 

I was approached by someone who kept asking me to go out with them. At first I refused as alarm bells were ringing telling me no.  I had a dreaded feeling about it, but I didn’t trust that feeling. Instead I finally agreed.

Keeping a long story short, it was the worst 9 months of my life. I knew that it was all-wrong, yet I kept staying out of fear as it had turned into an emotionally abusive relationship.

If I had trusted my gut feelings and listened to what felt right to me, I wouldn’t have endured such an emotional upheaval. Things would have been a lot different.

Trusting your gut feeling helps keep you on track…

Trusting your gut feeling helps keep you on track, making the right choices to serve and support you. It warns you when something isn’t right for you and when it is. The key is to learn to listen, trust and act.

If you are looking to have a smoother journey in life, feeling aligned to your soul and destiny, then trusting your gut feeling is a priority.

Here are some ways to get you started…

  • Take time everyday to be quiet. Create a space with no outside distractions. Spend time alone where you can just be. The quieter you become, the easier it is to listen.

  • Start meditating. Meditation is key in trusting your gut feelings and strengthening your intuition. Meditation helps you get quiet and develop self-awareness. The more self-aware you are, the easier it is to trust you gut feelings and act on them.
  • Spend time in nature. Nature is powerful to help you get in touch with your intuition. Spend time outside and just be. Enjoy the Earth and the sunshine. Get back to the elements and your true nature.
  • Develop self love. Learning to love yourself will help you trust your feelings. The more you trust you, the more you will listen and act on what feels right to you. It will become easy to say NO when you mean no, rather than saying yes out of guilt or obligation. The more you value you, the easier it will be to make the right choices that serve you.
  • Start journalling. Keep a journal of the gut feelings you have during the day. The more you acknowledge them, the clearer they will become. Note down what happens when you follow them and when you don’t. What was the outcome of both? You will soon learn to trust your feelings and act on them.
