Alleviate Anxiety with the Power of Mantra

If you are like me, at some point in your life you have suffered from anxiety. For some it is minor, whilst for others it is debilitating.

I suffered anxiety as a child, often feeling sick in my stomach and biting my nails until there was hardly anything left. In my twenties it escalated to panic attacks. I was pretty messed up, controlled by fear and overwhelm. I can’t even begin to tell you what my energy field was like back then, let alone how my mind was programmed. I had extreme low self-esteem, depression and anxiety.

I was lucky that I received help and moved onto a path of health and healing. It wasn’t until I started meditation, yoga and energy healing that I began to see shifts in the way I felt. This then sky rocketed when I studied Kundalini Yoga and commenced meditations to re-program my subconscious and energy field.

Taking it up another notch incredible healing was achieved with my hypnotherapy, past life regression and Forensic Healing. Digging deep to re program patterns from my past, releasing negative energies, getting to the root of the anxiety and where it began. This involved exploring my childhood and past life programming and conditioning to uncover its truth.

It has been a journey to say the least and I often cannot connect back to the person I used to be. It feels like a different lifetime as a different character living a whole other life.

The main thing to understand about anxiety is that it is something you are doing right now. It is not you and you are not anxiety. It is important that you don’t label yourself as anxiety and that it is not something you will do forever. It can change.

Anxiety needs to be stripped back to its core, to the root of why you have it in the first place, where it all began. It involves stripping back the triggers and beliefs that you believe to be true about yourself. It is about uncovering the truth of who you really are and experiencing the true you.

One way to achieve this is through mantas. Mantras are sounds that create powerful projections of the mind that serve you. Sound is a form of energy, which has structure and power that affects the chakras and the human psyche. Mantras are formulas of vibration that alter the patterns of the mind and the way you think and feel.

Just by chanting a mantra mentally of verbally you can elevate and change your consciousness effecting your body, mind and soul. You literally change the way you think, feel and act. Chanting mantras is a conscious method of controlling and directing the mind. Every emotion that you experience, both positive and negative, are vibrational frequencies and projections of the mind. The good news is you can change this frequency and the focus of your mind within moments.

When you chant mantras you are choosing to invoke a positive power, changing the frequency you are vibrating from negative to positive. By bringing your focus to a mantra you cut negative thoughts like a sword, as your mind re-directs itself along a positive vibrational wave current. This in turn changes the way you think and feel. Mantras begin to re-program your subconscious to a higher frequency, bringing you emotions of calm and joy.

Anxiety is a vibrational frequency and thought wave linking you into fear. Fear lowers your frequency and shrinks your energy field. Your mind becomes erratic and scattered, getting lost in the overwhelm of fear. This is not your fault. It is due to your childhood foundation and past life leakages.

The mantra used in this meditation is Har Haray, Haree, Wahay Guru. This means creative, wonderful, wisdom and bliss This mantra brings the creative seed of life allowing you to move through any block. It moves you from darkness and sets you on the path of flow, creativity and infinite truth once again.

Meditation to Alleviate Anxiety

  1. Sit in a meditative position, either in easy pose sitting crossed legged, or on a chair with a straight spine with a light neck lock (Jalandhar Bandh).
  1. Resting your hands on your knees in Gyan Mudra or folded in your lap.
  1. The eyes are closed, looking upwards at the third eye point.
  1. The breath will come naturally.
  1. Begin to chant the mantra Har Haray Haree, Wahay Guru in a soft monotone. Recite out loud each sound directing your focus at each chakra starting at the navel point and working your way up to the crown of the head. Chant “Har” and concentrate mentally at the belly button. Chant “Haray” and concentrate mentally at the heart center. Chant “Haree” and concentrate mentally at your throat center. Chant “Wahay” and concentrate mentally at your brow center (mid-point between your eyebrows). Chant “Guru” and mentally concentrate at the top center of the head.

The ‘r’ in the first three words of the mantra almost sounds like a ‘d.’ You flick your tongue up to the roof of the mouth. This is also true of the sound ‘r’ in Guru.

  1. Continue for 3 – 31 minutes.
  1. End – Inhale deeply hold the breath and stretch the arms overhead. Keeping your arms up exhale and shake the hands vigorously.
  1. Take a moment to sit in silence and enjoy the bliss of the meditation. Enter the space of stillness.
